Example:
If you have a font named 'Action Man.ttf' its important that you in the css file write 'font-family: Action Man;' else the case-sensitive php wont find it.

Do you mean that the filename of the font file can include space?

Yes exactly if you have a font called 'My font name with spaces.ttf'. You need to write in the css 'font-family: My font name with spaces;'.
